Launching the Women’s Leadership School: Championing Female Representation in Local Governance
In mid-2024, the Interfaith Vision Foundation Cameroon (IVFCam) officially rolled out its groundbreaking Women’s Leadership School initiative. This strategic project is designed to empower young women, equipping them to become active participants, decision-makers, and leaders in local governance.
A primary focus of the initiative is advocating for the creation of **Municipal Youth Councils** and aggressively driving up female representation within these local decision-making bodies.
The project strategically targets **10 key municipalities** divided equally across the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, North West Region and South West Region (Bamenda I, Bamenda II, Bamenda III, Tubah, Mbengwi, Limbe I, Limbe II, Limbe III, Tiko and Idenau I)
Our Impact and Vision.
The launch of the Women’s Leadership School marks a crucial milestone in IVFCam’s mission to nurture grassroots democracy. By breaking down barriers to political and civic participation, we are fostering a more inclusive, equitable future—one where young women have a powerful, defining voice in shaping their communities.
