This was done in partnership with trained councilors of these councils, as a part of the project on “Increasing Female Participation in the Decentralisation Processes in the North West Region; funded by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), Ghana via InterFaith Vision Foundation Cameroon (IVFCam).
To highlight the campaign, more than 520 women, in their hundreds, put on the purple ribbon, and carried placards bearing different messages calling more women to participate in decision making processes in their local communities; and to take up leadership positions especially during elections. Meanwhile, the Ngoketunjia radio is currently developing a radio program to sensitized the population particularly women of their rights to leadership.
